ABOUT US
Roberto Barnini, the proud owner of Villa Barnini, was born and raised in Tuscany. His mother, Nara, from whom he first learned the hospitality business, ran a hotel in the summer months on the Adriatic coast.
Roberto, like many Italians had family that emigrated to the United States in the early 1900s. His family, who has always shown a penchant for entrepreneurship, was successful in their transition. And, a generation later, Roberto’s cousin – a self-made man and successful entrepreneur - found a way to reconnect and bring members of his Italian family to the USA in an effort to expose them to the opportunities at hand.
This trip to the United States, was instrumental for the 20-year-old Roberto. His cousin Leo proved to be a great inspiration and an important father-figure to Roberto whose own father had separated from Roberto’s mother when Roberto was just a boy. Leo mentored Roberto and taught him how about business and how to be a success.
Roberto, by now a burgeoning Renaissance Man with language skills including German and English and a deep love of Roman History, Art, Food, and wine, launched himself with his charisma and new-found business acumen. Very quickly, Roberto pioneered the introduction of Italian Leather to the Far East. His successful career alone can fill a book. Now, Roberto’s passions have evolved to include Antiques, fashion, and more antiques – you will find the Villa to be kind of an antique in and of itself – 8 years ago Roberto and his family elected to restore a farmhouse and to convert it into a place where he can share, like Leo did, his love for life. With beautiful Tuscany as a backdrop, we welcome you to enjoy the food and culture of this corner of paradise!

PRE- AND POST-RESTORATION OF THE VILLA
Roberto Barnini and his family, acquired the property back in the 80s but only began its reconstruction around 2012. Collaborating with a local architect and a team of builders experienced in traditional materials and methods, he aimed to preserve the original structures wherever possible.
Despite the significant need for rebuilding due to the state of disrepair, the focus remained on meticulous care to safeguard surviving elements and employ traditional techniques. Wooden beams and ceilings were also restored to their original splendor. After a decade of planning and overseeing its extensive renovation, Villa Barnini has been meticulously restored to its former glory and even more. The villa now boasts breathtaking views of the rolling hills, valleys, and towns that surround it.
